Sofia Bartolomeo was born and lives in her studio in Belo Horizonte.

Expressing a desire to be an artist since the age of 3, she grew up illustrating and began working in the field in 2009, when she was 16.

In 2011, she studied at Cats Cambridge (England), where she furthered her studies in Fine Arts. The following year, she enrolled in a graphic design university in her hometown, graduating in 2016 and refining her drawing and composition techniques, as well as learning about the use of digital tools that aid in the production and sharing of her works. During this period, painting became her primary artistic medium.

During the following years, she participated in group exhibitions in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, New York, and Paris. In 2022, she lived in the Center of Arts, Science and Technology (SBCAST) artist residency in Santa Barbara, California, which resulted in a solo exhibition of the works developed during that period.

Her artistic research blends with her curiosity about the immaterial, resulting in works that reflect logic on the unattainable. Her narrative is about the balance and imbalance of current human reality, with the main theme being the appreciation of feminine energy.
